MSHA 24-Hour Training for New Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners

This three-day program covers all aspects of the initial training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48. The objective of this three-day course is to train new/inexperienced miners on the safety and health hazards in the surface metal/non-metal industry. Participants will learn their rights and responsibilities, job related safety procedures and rescue and first aid techniques. This course satisfies the total MSHA requirement for new/inexperienced miner training. Please pre-register for this course.

MSHA 16-Hour Training for New Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners

This two-day program covers the general aspects of the initial training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48. The objective of the course is to train new/inexperienced miners on the safety and health hazards in the surface meta/non-metal industry. Participants will learn their rights and responsibilities, job related safety procedures and rescue and first aid techniques.

Site Specific Training: MSHA requires new/inexperienced miners receive 24 hour of training before being issued a 5000-23 certificate. Due to the diversity of our students, site-specific task and hazard awareness training will not be included in this training session. This is a 16-hour class, and is designed for individuals who will receive an additional 8-hours of site-specific training from the mine operator. If required and provided by the mine operator, the site-specific training must be conducted at the mine site according to the mine operator's training plan. Please pre-register for this course.

MSHA 8-Hour Annual Training for Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners

This one-day program covers all aspects of the annual training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48. Those who successfully complete this course will return to the job with the skills necessary to perform their work in accordance with MSHA regulations. Upon completion, students will receive a 5000-23 annual refresher training certificate. This certificate will expire one year after completion. Please register for the course beforehand

MSHA 32-Hour Training for Inexperienced Underground Miners

This four-day classroom training gives new miners the knowledge they need to face the safety and health hazards involved in underground mining. Participants will learn their rights and responsibilities, job related safety procedures, rescue and first aid techniques. Students will receive their MSHA 5000-23 form upon completion. Please pre-register for this course.

MSHA site-specific requirements: This course provides participants with a total of 32-hours of the 40 required training hours. Due to the diversity of our students, task and hazard awareness training will not be included in the Utah Safety Council's training session. The site-specific training must be conducted at the mine site according to the mine operator's training plan. This constitutes the remaining eight hours of required training for underground miners.

MSHA 8-Hour Annual Training for Experienced Underground Miners

This training gives experienced miners the knowledge they need to face the safety and health hazards involved in underground mining. Participants will learn their rights and responsibilities, job related safety procedures and rescue and first aid techniques. Students will receive their MSHA 5000-23 form upon completion. Please pre-register for this course.

MSHA Site-Specific Requirements: Due to the diversity of our students, task and hazard awareness training will not be included in the Utah Safety Council training session. The site-specific training must be conducted at the mine site according to the mine operator's training plan.
