Focus Four Hazards: Prevention Strategies for Construction
This course will help you identify the Focus Four Hazards and take steps towards a safer work environment. OSHA has identified four major hazard areas in the construction industry that will be addressed in this train-the-trainer course:
- Falls
- Electrocution
- Excavation and Trenching
- Struck-by Incidents
Participants will gain the knowledge and basic skills relating to the Focus Four Hazards:
- Define commonly used terms
- Recognize regulatory standards and requirements
- Recognize the importance of identifying, controlling and eliminating common construction hazards as a means of preventing deaths, injuries and illnesses
- Recognize risk-taking behavior and identify suggestions for addressing them
As part of the benefits for members of the Utah Safety Council, this course is free for three people, per member organization, per membership year.
Small Business Scholarships are available to cover 50% of the cost for this course.
