PRINTER FRIENDLYMSHA 16-Hour Training for Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners
The objective of this two-day course is to train new miners on the safety and health hazards in the surface metal/non-metal industry. Participants will learn their rights and responsibilities, job related safety procedures, and rescue and first aid techniques.
MSHA requirements: MSHA requires new miners receive 24 hours of training before being issued a completed 5000-23 certificate. This is a 16 hour class. The mine site may or may not provide contractors with the additional 8 hours for the completion of their certificates. If you require a completed 24 hour certificate, you can attend the 8 hour “refresher course” for the additional training needed.

Course Cost: $1,750 per class up to 10 participants, each additional participant is $175.
