This course is designed for workers who may occasionally be exposed to hazardous substances but are not involved in regular clean-up operations. It meets OSHA requirements under 29 CFR 1910.120.

Hazard recognition and types of hazardous materials
OSHA regulations and worker rights
Emergency response procedures and spill control
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use and limitations
Safe work practices and decontamination procedures
Health effects of hazardous substance exposure
How to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
This training is ideal for workers at hazardous waste sites, treatment facilities, or during emergency response operations who are not required to complete the full 40-hour training.
This course is also available on-site or specially arranged at the Utah Safety Council’s training center. Member: $5,300 per class up to 10 participants, each additional participant $495. Non-Member: $6,900 per class up to 10 participants, each additional participant $595. *Travel expenses may apply.
