MSHA Introduction to Work Environment Tour
Course Time: 6:45am to 8:00am
The Introduction to Work Environment is a MSHA requirement for all students taking a New Miner or Experienced Miner course. It includes a tour of any Part 48 mine and must be completed by a certified MSHA instructor.
The Utah Safety Council is offering this tour for our students contracted with Rio Tinto / Kennecott. Approval must be received before students arrive onsite for the tour. To ensure no delay in this process, registration will close on Wednesday at 4:00pm before the scheduled Saturday tour.
Course Requirements:
- 1) Student must have already completed or be scheduled for a New or Experienced Miner course with the Utah Safety Council.
- 2) Student must be employed by a company that is currently contracted with Rio Tinto / Kennecott.
