MSHA 24-Hour New Miner (Surface) - WEB-BASED

MSHA 24-Hour Training for New/Inexperienced Metal/Non-Metal Surface Miners
This is a live, interactive class that will complete the classroom requirement for MSHA 24-Hour Part 48 Surface New Miner. This class is approved by MSHA and students will receive a 5000-23 certificate with completion. Each student is required to have access to a desktop or laptop, web camera, microphone, speakers, and internet for all three days of the course. Students that would like to receive their complete First Aid / CPR / AED certificate will need to schedule an appointment with our skills tester upon completion of this course. Cost of skills test is $30.00 but IS NOT required to complete your MSHA training. Training must be renewed annually with the MSHA 8-hour Refresher course.
Please Note: Students must be present for the full course (3 days from 7am to 4pm Mountain Time Zone) to receive a certificate. Driving while taking the web-based course is strongly discouraged. The Utah Safety Council reserves the right to reschedule students who are engaging in activities that are a distraction or could be deemed unsafe. Rescheduling & Attendance Policy
• One complimentary reschedule if requested at least 24 hours prior to course start by emailing msha@utahsafetycouncil.org with your Order ID number.
• Additional reschedules require full re-registration
• Cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable
Cancellations: Cancellations can be processed via email at msha@utahsafetycouncil.org within 72 hours of the start of class, including your Order ID.
You will receive a credit for the cost of the class that you may apply to a future training.
Scholarship Assistance
Eligible employers may receive up to 50% scholarship assistance toward approved courses.
Member discounts and scholarship assistance are not cumulative. Total discounts are capped at 50% of the base course price per policy.
After registration, you will receive a confirmation with required login details and instructions. If you do not receive the confirmation email msha@utahsafety.org
The Introduction to Work Environment is a MSHA required part of New Miner training. If you are outside of Utah, Please contact the site you will be working with to meet this requirement or if you are located in Utah but further away from Rio Tinto Kennecott.
The Utah Safety Council provides the Introduction to Work Environment tour onsite please register on our website here. Seating is extremely limited. After registering for the course with us, you will receive a confirmation email. That confirmation email will include a promo code for those looking to take the Introduction to Work Environment Tour with us. The course is free to current participants in a 24 hour New Miner Course with the Utah Safety Council. You must use that coupon code and register using the link above.
