Course Overview
NFPA 70E is the latest consensus standard for electrical safety in the workplace. This course reviews the 2024 Edition and explains how NFPA 70E helps prevent electrical injuries, fatalities, and OSHA violations by addressing electrical hazards such as shock, arc flash, and arc blast.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, participants should be able to:

Understand the difference between OSHA electrical regulations and the NFPA 70E consensus standard

Identify key components of a complete electrical safety program

List the major sections and elements of the NFPA 70E standard

Better understand arc flash hazards and risk reduction concepts

Know when an energized work permit is required

Understand incident energy and labeling requirements

Explain the importance of establishing an electrically safe work condition

Identify required elements of an arc flash risk analysis

Understand PPE categories/levels prescribed by NFPA 70E
Included: Students will receive the NFPA 70E® 2024 Electrical Safety in the Workplace Manual.
Attendance & Proctoring
This class is proctored for attendance and participation. To verify participation, students will be observed by webcam and may be asked to respond through the chat and verbally using a microphone.
Students who are not participating may be excused from class and will not receive a refund or credit.
Refund & Credit Policy
Utah Safety Council does not issue refunds for this course.
If you are unable to attend, the cost of the course may be applied as a credit toward a future Utah Safety Council training, subject to training policies.

This course may qualify for the Utah Safety Council Workplace Safety Scholarship Program. Eligible applicants can receive up to 50% off the course cost.
