Course Overview

According to OSHA, an estimated 35,000 serious injuries and 62,000 non-serious injuries involving forklifts occur each year. Comprehensive training and adherence to proper safety protocols are critical to reducing these incidents.

This one-day, instructor-led web-based course is designed to prepare participants to serve as in-house forklift trainers and to meet OSHA’s Powered Industrial Truck training requirements, including:

• Formal instruction

• Practical training

• Evaluation at least every three years

The course follows an integrated training model that allows for flexibility in presentation and customization to specific job sites and company policies.

Instructor Kit Included

Each participant receives one Coaching the Lift Truck® – Version 4 Instructor Kit, valued at over $500. The kit includes:

• Fully scripted Leader’s Guide

• Operator and pedestrian video presentations

• Full-color 32-page student response book

• Certificate and wallet card

• Discussion diagrams

• Written tests

Forklift trainers must have a current forklift operator license or adequate forklift operating experience to attend this course.

Utah Safety Council does not issue refunds for this course. If you are unable to attend, the cost of the course may be applied as a credit toward a future Utah Safety Council training, subject to training policies.
