Course Overview
Principles of Occupational Safety and Health, also known as POSH, is an intensive four-day course designed to provide a strong foundation in workplace safety and health.
This course is ideal for new safety professionals, supervisors, managers, HR professionals, safety committee members, and anyone responsible for supporting or managing workplace safety programs.
POSH covers 19 important safety and health topics and gives participants a practical understanding of key safety concepts, OSHA requirements, hazard recognition, recordkeeping, inspections, safety teams, and best practices for building and maintaining an effective safety program.
POSH may be taken as a standalone course for professional development, or as the required prerequisite course and first step toward earning the National Safety Council’s Advanced Safety Certificate.
The National Safety Council’s Advanced Safety Certificate is earned by successfully completing POSH, along with 5.2 additional Continuing Education Units from approved NSC courses within a five-year period.
