Occupational Safety Essentials (Web-Based)

Course Time: 8:00 am–3:30 pm

This 8-hour course provides a comprehensive safety management framework, including roles and responsibilities, for individuals in safety management positions. It serves as an excellent resource for those new to safety management, offering guidance on where to begin with a safety program. Additionally, it provides seasoned safety professionals with tools to evaluate the effectiveness of their current program.

The course is divided into 13 modules:

• Introduction

• Overview of OSHA and other regulatory agencies

• OSHA recordkeeping

• Incident management and handling workers’ compensation claims

• Incident investigation

• Cost of incidents

• Emergency planning and exit routes overview

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Risk and hazards overview

• Safety committees, teams, and engagement

• Safety training

• Building a safety culture and gaining management buy-in

• Communication strategies and starting points
