About the Course:

This web-based, instructor-led course is designed for individuals seeking to become MSHA Part 48 Approved Instructors. Training focuses on Part 48 regulatory requirements, training plan structure, lesson development, documentation, and recordkeeping.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion that can be submitted to MSHA as part of their application process to become an approved instructor.

This certificate serves as official documentation of the training and demonstrates the participant’s readiness to instruct Part 48 miners effectively.

Participants must be present for the full course to receive a certificate of completion. Utah Safety Council reserves the right to remove participants for disruptive behavior or failure to comply with course expectations.

No Refund & Cancellation Policy

This course is non-refundable due to limited seating and advance planning requirements.

Cancellations must be received at least 72 hours prior to the course start date to be eligible for a credit toward a future training.
Cancellations received within 72 hours of the course start date, or failure to attend, will result in forfeiture of the full course fee.

Compliance Notice

Utah Safety Council provides MSHA Part 48 training as a cooperative training provider. Utah Safety Council is not the mine operator and does not assume responsibility for mine-specific training plans. Mine operators and contractors are responsible for maintaining MSHA-compliant Part 48 training plans and designating responsible and competent persons in accordance with 30 CFR Part 48.
