BODY-WORN CAMERAS: Modifies the list of circumstances in which an officer may deactivate a body-worn camera; requires a police officer to document reasons why the officer failed to comply with requirements related to body-worn cameras; allows a presiding judge to provide an adverse inference instruction to a jury of a criminal trial if an officer failed to comply with requirements related to body-worn cameras, under specified circumstances. [SB 210 enacts 77-7a-104.1, amends 77-7a-104]
COVID-19: Establishes, under certain circumstances, a rebuttable presumption that a first responder who contracts COVID-19 contracted it by accident during the course of performing his or her duties as a first responder; establishes a presumed date of the accident for a first responder making a workers' compensation claim related to COVID-19; establishes an amount of benefits for a first responder who provides first responder services for minimal or no compensation or on a volunteer basis. [HB 3007 enacts 34A-2-1101 to 34A-2-1106]
GOLF CARTS: Authorizes a municipality to enact an ordinance to allow the operation of a golf cart on a highway in specified circumstances; exempts a golf cart from title, registration, and other requirements appliable to other motor vehicles; prohibits the drinking of alcohol and possessing an open container of alcohol while operating a golf cart on a highway; requires that golf carts adhere to traffic laws similar to a bicycle.
